Aged care

Boroondara Council privatised Aged Care Services at a council meeting on 11 April 2022. 

The motion to privatise was moved by Cr Wes Gault and seconded by Cr Cynthia Watson.

The vote was:

• 5 councillors in favour of privatisation:  Wes Gault, Cynthia Watson, Jane Addis, Nick Stavrou,  Di Gillies

• 4 councillors opposed: Victor Franco, Susan Biggar, Jim Parke, Felicity Sinfield

I have heard from residents that quality of aged care services has declined since it was privatised.  

I am not convinced this was a good decision by Council
